The Order of the Holy Cross

Welcome!

The Order is a Benedictine Anglican monastic community founded in 1884 by James Otis Sargent Huntington to provide a specifically North American expression of monasticism.

The Order is comprised of 4 houses in the US, Canada, and South Africa.

We live in community under the threefold vow of obedience, stability, and conversion to the Monastic way of life as stated in the Rule of St. Benedict. Our life also reflects the rule of our Founder, Fr. James Huntington.
