Repeat after me: ‘I am not a monk.’
Repeat after me: ‘I am a Benedictine.’
As Associates, we may not be required to live in community, but we are expected to make Benedictine
principles an important part of our life. In this interactive, three-day retreat, we will explore three vows five values and seven disciplines from the Rule of St. Benedict that can help us more fully inculcate Benedictine principles into the way we live.
Led by Kurt Aschermann, AHC, an Associate of almost 40 years, this retreat will give you the tools you need to guarantee that your personal Rule of Life is not just a list of things you will or will not do, and more a summary of how your rule will bring you closer to God, your faith community, and the Order of Holy Cross.
Kurt Aschermann has taught St. Benedict for the Rest of Us for over 20 years in diverse places like parish churches, Trappist monasteries and the National Cathedral. Currently the Spiritual Life Coordinator for an Episcopal Church in Virginia, where he leads a Benedictine cell, Aschermann has conducted Benedictine programs for laypeople with Esther de Waal and Joan Chittister.
